The History

Researcher Dr. George Eby discovered in 1984 that Zinc Gluconate could provide immune support to a compromised immune system. His study led Quantum Health to develop our specially formulated line of zinc lozenges which were launched shortly after Dr. Eby's research. Numerous studies, including a 2017 meta-analysis have since shown strong evidence that Zinc Gluconate throat lozenges can help build the immune system.

The Research on Zinc Gluconate

Zinc Gluconate is a form of zinc, a naturally occurring mineral that our bodies need for growth and development. As a chelated form of zinc, it is stable and water-soluble, making it more easily absorbed by our bodies.

Our original TheraZinc zinc gluconate lozenges were designed with a proprietary blend of nutrients and herbal ingredients developed to give your immune system the support it needs during times of stress.* In addition to zinc, they also contain slippery elm and vitamin A. These zinc lozenges come without echinacea, perfect for those with echinacea allergies.

USDA Organic Zinc Lozenges

Our USDA Organic zinc lozenges are formulated with 7 mg of zinc gluconate per lozenge.* The flavors have been designed to effectively remove the distinct zinc taste that you can sometimes get with Zinc Gluconate products. Our USDA organic lozenges come in two varieties:

• Elderberry raspberry, which contains organic elderberry extract.
• Blood orange, which is made with slippery elm, marshmallow root and echinacea. 

Each variety is available in an 18 count bag or a 25 count box.

TheraZinc Oral Spray

This unique product, in peppermint clove flavor, soothes your throat while delivering assistance to your immune system.* It's designed to be sprayed at the back of your throat where the zinc ions can dissolve, giving you a targeted alternative to our lozenges.

Our oral spray contains herbal extracts of echinacea and elderberry to give an additional boost to your immune system.

USDA Organic Cough Drops

Other ingredients

Our zinc lozenges and oral spray products contain other herbal ingredients and nutrients that have been found to help the immune system:

• Echinacea. Echinacea is a flowering plant native to the U.S. and Canada. Traditionally, the leaves and roots have been used for herbal remedies. Note: A very small number of people develop a rash after ingesting it. For those people, we have developed lozenges without echinacea.
• Elderberry extract. The elderberry plant has been used as far back as ancient Egypt when it was thought to heal burns and help skin complexion. Today, we use it in our formulas for immune support to help get you back to feeling your best.*
• Slippery elm. Slippery elm is a tree native to the U.S. and Canada. The inner bark has unique properties that have been found to coat mucous membranes, providing relief.
• Vitamin A. This vitamin supports a healthy immune system. It has antioxidant properties that protect our cells against free radicals.*
• Marshmallow root. An herb native to Western Asia, Europe and Northern Africa, this little plant has been used as a folk remedy for thousands of years. We use it in our lozenges for its comforting properties.
