This is the formula that started it all! The original Buzz Away® relies primarily on citronella oil along with cedarwood, peppermint, lemongrass, and eucalyptus. The essential oils are carried in purified water, castor oil, and natural grain alcohol. Some of our long-time customers love the smell of this formula and continue to prefer it today.

Effective against mosquitoes, gnats, blackflies and no-see-ums.

FAQs

Why should I use a plant-based insect repellent?

Plant-based insect repellents offer an alternative for people who prefer products made with plant-derived active ingredients. Buzz Away provides effective insect repellency using plant-based active ingredients when used as directed.

What is the difference between plant-based repellents and DEET-based repellents

Plant-based repellents use plant-derived active ingredients, while DEET-based repellents use DEET as the active ingredient. Buzz Away provides a plant-based option for repelling mosquitoes when used as directed.

How is this different from Buzz Away Extreme?

Buzz Away Original is a citronella forward formula that is also registered with the US EPA (most other plant-based repellents are not).

Our plant-based repellents have not been tested on animals. We recommend you speak to your veterinarian before using any new product on your pets.
