There are two primary differences between our cold sore treatment and other products on the market. First, our product is plant-based, and includes L-lysine, which is a well-known amino acid that is beneficial for cold sore sufferers. Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), predominantly type 1 (HSV-1). The virus is highly contagious and can be transmitted through direct contact with an infected person's skin or saliva. Once HSV infects a person, the virus remains dormant in the body's nerve cells and can reactivate, leading to recurrent outbreaks of cold sores, typically around the lips or mouth.

Common triggers for cold sore outbreaks include stress, fatigue, exposure to sunlight or extreme weather conditions, hormonal changes (such as those during menstruation), weakened immune system, and even skin irritation or injury near the area of infection. Identifying and managing these triggers can help reduce the frequency of outbreaks.

There is currently no cure for cold sores. Once infected with the herpes simplex virus, it remains in the body for life. However, there are treatments available that can help reduce the severity and frequency of outbreaks, such as Lip Clear Lysine+ and SuperLysine+.
